An Evening of Poems, Conversation, and Community with Colleen Alles & Eric Greinke

Join us for an evening of poems, conversation, and community with Colleen Alles & Eric Greinke
in the Chapel at Fountain Street Church!

Poet Laureate Christine Stephens-Krieger will host the first of the Grand River Poetry Collective's 2nd Thursday poetry events at Fountain Street Church.

We have two poets with new books out that we want to celebrate: Colleen Alles and her new book of poems, Luminescence in Season, published by Meadowlark Press this June 2026. Books will be available at the event, or if you want to read ahead, get a copy here.

And poet Eric Greinke's recent Selected Works, One Candle, is a work of art from a master poet in our midst.

This will be our first 2nd Thursday Poetry event in the Chapel at Fountain Street Church, so stay tuned for more events and more open mics in the future.

Poetry Salon with the Grand River Poetry Collective

JOIN US on the 4th Thursday of every month for an evening of talk with fellow poets about all things poetry. We're at The LIT Club (Ladies Literary Club, located on 61 Sheldon Blvd)

Our Poetry Collective is FREE to join and open to the public. The more the merrier! And the more poets in our midst, the more we can accomplish. We have BIG DREAMS.

We'll be planning future workshops, poetry events, and even taking a look at our 2nd annual poetry festival this summer. There's so much to do and a POETRY COLLECTIVE to get it done.

POETRY SAVES LIVES. Poetry improves lives. Poetry helps us tell the truth to power, to our community and to ourselves. POETRY IS IMPORTANT.

At The LIT Club, Penny will have beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and some light snacks for purchase.

There's parking on the street, most of it you need to pay for until 7PM. There are some non-paying spots.

Who Do You Love? Open Mic at The Lit

Our next night at The Lit is something special: we’ve invited Artsauce to accompany poets live for a set—an experiment we’re excited to invite poets to explore. February feels like the right moment for all of us to share some love with a themed open mic, so we’re skipping featured readers this month. Features return in March.

We’re planning longer sets, and we encourage you to think about music—think about who (or what) you love, and what you mean by that.

Thu, Feb 12 • 5:30–7:30 (break midway) • The Lit, 61 Sheldon • Free and open to the public. Light meal and refreshments.
